willhaben push alerts on your Android phone

A new ad on your willhaben search reaches the lock screen of your Android phone, and one tap takes you into the listing.

  1. Set the filters on willhaben until the page is honest

Austria’s general classifieds site runs Immobilien, Auto & Motor and the Marktplatz with its furniture, tools, bikes and baby gear under one roof, so the filters do the work. Pick the Kategorie, restrict it to a Bundesland and the Bezirk you can actually drive to, cap Preis von–bis in euro, set the Zustand, and on cars and flats choose private sellers or dealers. Finish with the „Neueste zuerst“ sort.

  2. Telegram Email App push

Create the search in the app

Add that results page in the MXSender app and keep notifications switched on for it. The app is one of three destinations — Telegram and email work from the same link — and nothing about the search changes if you move it later. Give it a short name, because that name is what you will read on the lock screen at half past six in the morning.

  3. Answer the push while the ad is new

When something appears on the page that was not there before, your phone shows it. One tap opens the listing, and from there you are one call away from the seller, which is the part that decides who gets it. Checking frequency comes with the plan: one search every 30 minutes for free, five every 10 minutes on Starter, twenty searches and the quickest checks on Pro.

The notification that arrives before you unlock

The phone is face up on the table and a line appears at the top of the screen: a new ad on the search you care about. You have not opened anything, and you already know the market moved.

Compare that to the alternative, which is reopening the same willhaben results page twenty times a day and finding it unchanged nineteen of them. The reason to do it at all is to be the first to ring, and the push is what makes being first something other than a full-time habit.

One tap from the lock screen into the listing

There is no hunting for the ad afterwards. Tapping the notification opens the willhaben page for that listing, with the photos and the asking price in euro in front of you.

On a car that single look is often the whole decision. If the Kilometerstand or the Erstzulassung is wrong for you, or the Pickerl situation is not what you wanted, the phone goes back in your pocket thirty seconds later.

Where the quiet searches pile up

The app keeps a feed of everything we have found for you. That is the home for searches you have set to silent: they keep running and keep collecting, they just never make the phone buzz.

It is a practical split between a narrow hunt and a broad one. A flat in one Bezirk of Wien deserves a push; a speculative Marktplatz sweep across a whole Bundesland is something you browse in the evening with a coffee, and the feed is where it waits.

Deciding between appointments, not at a laptop

A lot of Austrian second-hand buying happens on the move. You see the alert on the way out of a meeting, call about a workbench available for Abholung two districts away, and agree a time before you have reached the car.

For flats the pattern is the same with higher stakes: a Besichtigungstermin in Graz or Innsbruck is arranged by phone, often within the hour, and whoever was looking at their screen when the ad appeared is rarely the person who gets in.

Android today, and the rest of the setup

The app is Android for now. On any other device the same willhaben link runs through Telegram or through email instead, with the same search behind it, and no channel costs extra on any plan.

willhaben also offers the Suchagent, its own saved search, which emails you when it has something. Running ours alongside it simply means you also decide where the alert lands and how often the page is checked.

❓Frequently asked questions

Is there an iPhone version?

Not today — the app is Android. On an iPhone you can run exactly the same search through Telegram or email.

Does my phone have to be awake for this to work?

No. The checking happens on our side, not on the handset. The phone only needs a connection to receive the notification.

What is the difference between the push and the in-app feed?

The push interrupts you; the feed is the running list of every find, including the ones from searches you muted.

Can one search send to the app and somewhere else at the same time?

Yes, the destinations are not exclusive, and you can change them later without rebuilding the search.

What happens if I declined the notification permission?

Everything still collects in the feed, nothing reaches the lock screen. Granting the permission in the Android settings for the app restores the pushes.

Will my first alert include ads that were already there?

No. The existing page counts as seen, so the first push is for the first ad posted after you added the search.
