The buy price is set by the sale price

Work backwards from what you will sell the car for. Deduct reconditioning, tyres, a fresh APK if needed, valeting, transport, the cost of keeping it on your lot and the margin below which the deal is not worth doing. The remainder is your filter price.

Check it against reality every few weeks. No cards for days: your ceiling is too low. A card every hour that all look like bargains: the market may be softening.
