New retail laptops rarely run out. The ones that do are single units: a returned MacBook Air, a renewed business ThinkPad, a used gaming laptop from a seller clearing stock. Each exists once in that spec and price.

If you see such an offer before anyone else and order it, it is yours. Checking the page twice a day means you mostly see what others already passed on.

A German keyboard, or not: read the details

Laptops sold on Amazon.de usually come with a German QWERTZ layout. If you need US or UK English, put the layout into the search, and if you do not care, still check, because the layout is often only mentioned deep in the product details.

The same goes for the charger: some used and renewed offers ship without the original one, and a replacement MacBook charger is not cheap.

Seller, condition and return terms on a used MacBook

Note who sells the laptop. Amazon itself, a large refurbisher with many recent ratings and a new shop with a handful of reviews are three different risks. Read the latest reviews for mentions of locked devices or wrong specs.

Read the condition text and the warranty and return terms of that exact offer. On delivery, confirm the activation lock is off, the Mac is not tied to an employer’s MDM profile, the battery health is reasonable and every port works. If something is wrong, return it through Amazon. Never pay a seller outside Amazon’s checkout.
