What to compare on an e-bike listing

Battery capacity in watt-hours tells you more about range than any marketing line. Check which motor system is fitted and whether spare batteries for it are still sold. In Germany a pedelec assists up to 25 km/h with a 250-watt rated motor; anything faster needs a plate and insurance, so read the specs before you fall for a price.

Frame size follows your height and inseam. The manufacturer’s size chart beats guessing, and a bike that is too big will never feel right however cheap it was.

Season and model year decide when bargains appear

Bike prices and stock move with the calendar. When a new model year arrives, last year’s frames are cleared, and the popular middle sizes go first. Returned bikes in good condition appear now and then too. The point of a Telegram alert is that you see the new offer while the size you need is still in stock, not after.

A delivery box, not a finished bike

Many bikes ship mostly assembled, with the handlebar, pedals and front wheel to fit and the brakes and gears to adjust. If that is not your thing, budget for a local workshop. Checking a marketplace bike seller before spending four figures

The product page shows who sells and who ships. For a third-party seller, look at recent ratings, where the business is based and its warranty and return terms. A famous brand at a strange price from a seller with no record, or a request to pay by transfer outside Amazon, is a reason to walk away.
