Sourcing stock for resale on Catawiki, by email

Dealers and market-stall sellers who buy at Catawiki auctions can let each new lot in their buying searches arrive by email, early enough to price it before deciding on a bid.

3 steps

Set up in a minute

  1. Search on Catawiki, sort by newest

Turn your buying criteria into a search

On catawiki.com choose the category you resell from, type the makers or object types that sell well for you and use the filters the category provides. Keep one search per line of stock, sort with newest lots first and copy the link.

  2. Copy the link, paste it into mxsender

Save it in MXSender with email

Paste the link on the MXSender website and choose email. On Pro, up to three addresses can get each alert, for example yours and a business partner’s. Telegram can be added on every plan.

  3. New listings land in your inbox

Price each lot from the mail

One email per check lists every new lot it found with title, current price in euro, a photo when provided and a link. Lots listed before you saved the search are left out.

A reseller’s checklist for each Catawiki alert

Resale value: what have similar pieces sold for in your own shop, stall or online channel? Total cost: winning bid, Catawiki’s buyer’s fee, shipping and, if the seller is abroad, possible import charges. Condition: what does the condition report say, and what do the photos show that the text does not? Seller: what is the rating? Time: how long will this item sit before it sells?

A lot that passes all five gets a maximum bid written next to it. That calculation needs a calm moment, which an alert on the first day of a multi-day auction provides.

Where the margin in auction buying comes from

Lots that are miscategorised, described modestly or listed in a quiet week sometimes close below what they fetch elsewhere. Spotting them depends on seeing many lots in your niche without browsing for hours. Narrow searches by maker, period or object type bring those lots to you; your judgement does the rest.

We alert you about new lots on searches you built; there is no bulk export and no price data beyond what the lot shows.

An inbox that works as a buying log

Mail rules can sort each search into its own folder, and replying to yourself with a maximum bid creates a record of what you planned. Search the inbox later by maker to see what came up and what you passed on.

Your mail provider decides where messages land; after the first alert check spam, mark it as wanted and add the sender. Each mail carries an unsubscribe link.

Plan sizes for a resale business

Free gives one search checked every 30 minutes with one address. Starter, $5.99, gives five searches every 10 minutes with one address. Pro, $14.99, gives twenty searches, our fastest checks and three addresses.

❓Frequently asked questions

Can I follow several categories for my shop?

Yes, one search each, up to your plan’s limit.

Does the mail show the buyer’s fee?

No. It shows the price at the time of the check; the fee and shipping are on Catawiki.

Can my partner get the same alerts?

On Pro, add up to three addresses; otherwise forward the mail.

Will I get an email for every lot separately?

One email per check lists all new lots from that check.

Can MXSender bid automatically?

No. All bidding is done by you on Catawiki.

What if a search brings too many lots?

Narrow it on Catawiki with a maker, period or filter, then replace the link in MXSender.
