The mistake most first-time furnishers make on 999.md

The usual error is one giant search for furniture across all of Moldova. It returns workshop ads, made-to-order kitchens and shop stock, and the private seller with a decent bed for little money gets buried. Split the hunt instead: one search for a bed, another for a table, each limited to your city.

Mind the two languages too. Many ads are titled in Russian, others in Romanian. A keyword in one language misses half the market, so either browse by subcategory with no keyword or keep a search per language.

Why email works for a slow furnishing project

Furnishing takes weeks, and decisions get made in the evening with a tape measure in hand. An inbox keeps every match: label them, search last week’s mail for wardrobe, compare three offers before calling anyone. Nothing has to be installed and the mail opens on any device.

Every message carries an unsubscribe link, so the alerts stop the day the last chair is in place.

First match? Look in spam and promotions

Large pieces in older Moldovan apartment blocks often have to come apart to leave. Ask the seller before you go whether it is assembled, who dismantles it, and whether the hinges, shelves and screws are all there. Measure your own door and stairs at home first.

When you see it, open every door and drawer, check the back panel for damp stains, and inspect upholstered pieces for pests along the seams. Hand over money when you load the furniture, never as a deposit for something you have only seen in pictures.

Who wins the cheap dining set

Families moving abroad often price furniture to be gone by the weekend. The buyer who answers first, offers a clear time and turns up with transport usually gets it. Reading the new ads early is what puts you at the front of that queue.
