Why a car hunt in Poland suits the inbox

Buying a car is rarely a one-evening job. It is two or three weeks of comparing, ringing, viewing and walking away. Email fits that rhythm: every mail stays where you left it, you can flag the promising ones, and nothing disappears when you close an app.

If you are new to Poland and still finding your way around a Polish-language site, the photos and prices in each mail do much of the work, and any mail app can translate a title you are unsure about.

A price record you can quote back to the seller

After a fortnight your inbox holds a dozen or more real asking prices for the same model and year. When a seller insists the price is fair, search your mail for the model and you will see what similar cars were listed for, which makes for a calmer negotiation.

Paperwork worth seeing before any deposit

Ask for the VIN, the plate number and the first registration date, then check the car on historiapojazdu.gov.pl, the official vehicle history service. Inspection entries over the years show the recorded mileage.

At the viewing, the seller should match the name on the registration certificate. A pre-purchase check at an independent inspection station is cheap insurance, and a deposit on a car you have not seen in person is best avoided.
