Starting from zero in a Polish rental

Many flats in Poland are let with a bare kitchen, and students or people relocating for work often face the same list: fridge, cooker or oven, washing machine. New, that adds up fast. Second-hand units from people refitting their kitchens can cover the list for much less, if you reach them in time.

Set one search per appliance and let each email you. Within days you see what a working fridge costs in your city, and you reply first to the listings that look right. The person who suggests a pickup time first usually gets the good ones.

What to ask a seller about an older oven or fridge

Request a photo of the rating plate for the model and usually the year. Ask why it is being sold, whether it works without faults, and whether a receipt or some warranty is left. For washing machines, check the transit bolts are included.

See it working when you collect: a fridge that cools, an oven that heats evenly, a washer that runs a short cycle quietly and dry. Transport a fridge upright and let it rest before you plug it in.

Will appliances listed earlier be included?

No. The first check records what is already there; only later listings are emailed.

Can I search in English?

You can, but Polish words such as pralka, lodówka or zmywarka match far more listings.

How do I stop the emails?
