A commuter’s checklist for a used bike in Poznań or Kraków

A bike you ride daily needs to be dull and dependable. Before travelling to see one, ask the seller for a photo of the frame number under the bottom bracket, the frame size, and when the chain, brake pads and tyres were last replaced. Fenders, a rack and lights already fitted are worth money and time.

At the viewing, ride it for a few minutes, brake hard, change through every gear, rock the handlebars to feel for headset play and look for cracks at the welds. Pay only after that.

Electric commuters: what a mail can and cannot tell you

The photo and price in the mail tell you whether an e-bike is worth opening. The rest you need from the seller: battery age, real range, whether the display shows charge cycles, and whether the charger and battery key are included. A ride up a slope tells you whether the motor pulls cleanly.

If the e-bike is in another city, use Przesyłka OLX rather than paying a stranger by bank transfer. A payment link sent from outside OLX, or a request to switch to another chat app, is the moment to walk away.

Wording the search: brand, type or size

Searching only for a brand misses good bikes from makers you did not think of; searching only „rower“ floods the inbox. A type plus a size and a price ceiling is usually the sweet spot. If you want two kinds, a city bike and an e-bike for example, make them two searches so each mail stays readable.

Inbox, folders and how many addresses

Where the mail lands is up to your provider. After the first match, check spam and promotions tabs, mark it as wanted and add the sender to your contacts. Every mail carries an unsubscribe link. A filter into a Bikes folder keeps the alerts searchable by model.
