Vintage cameras and lenses from Catawiki in Telegram
When a camera body or a lens you are hunting is listed on Catawiki, a Telegram card tells you early enough to study the photos and settle on a sensible bid.

Paste the link into our Telegram bot. It saves the search and names it; rename it after the mount or the model, so a card labelled „M-mount 35mm“ is clear at a glance.

Darkroom evening, and a card for a medium-format body
You are developing a roll when the phone shows a card: a medium-format camera in the week’s camera auction, with a lens and a back. There are days left. Later that evening you zoom into the photos on Telegram Desktop, look for haze in the lens and dents on the body, and read the condition report twice. You message the seller about the shutter and wait for an answer before deciding on a limit.
Found on the closing night, that same lot gets a rushed bid or none at all.
Telling a good glass lot from a risky one
Photos taken against a light reveal haze and fungus; ask for one if it is missing. Check whether the aperture blades are described as clean and dry, whether focus is smooth, and whether the shutter is tested at all speeds. A body with sticky slow speeds or dead seals may still be a good buy, but only if the price allows for a service.
Several camera searches without a messy chat
One search per mount or maker keeps cards relevant, and the hashtags separate them. Mute a broad search for accessories so it does not buzz, and keep the lens you really want loud. Forward a card to a friend who shoots the same system for a second opinion.
Totting up the cost before bidding
Catawiki adds a buyer’s fee to the winning bid, and shipping is extra; for lenses, ask how they will be packed. Import charges may apply if the seller is in another country. Look at the seller’s rating, then set one maximum that includes it all.
Checks per plan for camera lots
Free covers one search checked every 30 minutes. Starter at $5.99 covers five searches every 10 minutes. Pro at $14.99 covers twenty searches with our fastest checks. Email is on every plan too.
❓Frequently asked questions
Can I get cards for one camera model only?
Yes, if the Catawiki search you save is limited to that model.
Will I hear about lots already running?
No. Only lots added after you saved the search are sent.
Can the bot bid for me?
No. Bids are placed by you on Catawiki.
Does every card have a photo?
When the lot provides one, the card shows it.
Can I pause the search after I win a lens?
Yes. Pause or delete it in the bot or on the MXSender website.
What if my camera search brings too many cards?
Narrow it on Catawiki to one maker, one mount or one type of body, copy the new address and replace the link in the bot. Fewer, better cards are easier to research properly.
