A checklist before you drive out to see a generator

Ask for a short video of it running under load. Ask how many hours it has done and when the oil was last changed. For cordless kit, ask the age of the batteries; for scaffolding, look closely at welds and couplers.

Ask about the receipt or remaining warranty on expensive professional tools.
