Mistakes that make a Romanian parts search useless

The commonest one is searching a single English word. Sellers write in Romanian, so „bumper“ finds almost nothing while „bară față“ finds plenty. The second is leaving out the generation: a Golf 5 headlight and a Golf 6 headlight are not the same part.

The third is no price floor. Without one, a search for a gearbox also returns gear knobs and gaskets. A minimum of a few hundred lei clears the small stuff out of your inbox.

Who gets the rare trim piece

Breaker yards across Romania post parts from a single car over several days. When a car identical to yours arrives at a yard in Cluj or Bacău, the trim, the mirror glass and the seat rails you have chased for months may all appear in one week. Whoever writes first usually gets them, often a restorer with the same idea.
