Checklist for buying a used tool from a private seller

Model and year written in the ad or visible on the plate. A test run you can see. Original charger and batteries for cordless tools, with their age. For petrol machines, a cold start. For welders, the duty cycle and the cables. Receipt or reason for selling, if the seller has one.

Pay on handover. A request for a deposit before you have seen the machine is a reason to keep looking.

Why an inbox suits a renovation list

A renovation runs for weeks. Emails stay searchable: type „kompresor“ into your inbox and every match from the past month is there with its price. That makes it easier to recognise a fair offer and to see what sold fast.

Every mail carries an unsubscribe link, so a finished project ends with one click.

It also helps to note what you did not buy and why. When a similar generator appears two weeks later at a lower price, you already know which questions to ask the seller.

Getting the first mail into the right folder

Whether a new sender lands in your main inbox is up to your provider. After the first match, check spam or promotions, mark the mail as wanted and save the sender to your contacts. A filter that moves the mails into a „Tools“ folder keeps your inbox tidy.
