A newcomer’s week of hunting in Lviv’s new complexes

Imagine you move to Lviv for a job and want something modern near the ring road, in one of the new complexes. On day one you browse at night and find two good flats; both owners say they already have tenants lined up. On day two the same thing happens.

Title, price, link: reading a Viber alert about a new-build flat

A Viber alert is three lines. The title usually names the rooms and often the street or complex; the price shows whether it fits once the building fee is added. That is enough to decide whether to open the link.

Heating, the management company and the meter readings

Then the usual care: no money before you have seen the flat, a look at the document that lets the owner rent it out, and the rent, deposit, term and any agency commission in a written agreement.
