📘 How to pick the right link ↗

🔎 Open OLX Indonesia ↗

A student in Bandung, a new semester and three days to find a room

Rooms near the campuses fill up before each semester, and the good ones go to whoever turns up first ready to sign. A student refreshing OLX between lectures sees some of them; a short Viber message for each new listing catches the ones posted while she was in class.

The same goes for a family looking for a house near a school, or a worker moving to an industrial area like Cikarang.

What a rental title tells you before you tap

Rental titles on OLX usually name the type, the area and sometimes the number of rooms or „furnished“. Next to the price, that is enough to drop most listings. When one fits, open the link to see the photos and whether the rent is monthly or yearly.

If you want the photo in the alert, add Telegram or email; both show it.

One search per area, not one for the whole city

A search covering all of Jakarta sends far more than anyone can read. Pick two or three districts you would genuinely live in, save each as its own search, and give each a rent ceiling you can actually pay. Your Viber chat stays readable and each message is a real option.

Not sure which district suits you yet? Run one wider search for a day or two, see which areas keep turning up at your budget, then split it into those.

Booking fees and other rental warning signs

See the place, in person or on a live video call, before any money moves. Ask who owns it and whether the person showing it may rent it out, and get the terms in writing. Pressure to pay a booking fee today because „many people are interested“ is a classic push to skip those steps.
