Ex-lease ThinkPads versus private MacBooks

Poland has a lively trade in ex-corporate laptops: ThinkPads, Latitudes and EliteBooks refurbished by small firms that usually offer an invoice and some warranty. Private sellers, often students or people upgrading, tend to price lower but sell as-is. OLX lets you filter by seller type, so you can run one search for each world and compare.

The best-value machines go quickly in both. A MacBook Air with a healthy battery and a price below the usual run gets several messages soon after it appears, and sellers often pick whoever can come today.

Checklist for a second-hand MacBook or Windows laptop

On a Mac, open System Information to see battery cycle count and condition, then ask the seller to sign out of their Apple ID and turn off Find My Mac in front of you; an activation-locked Mac is a paperweight. On any laptop, look for dead pixels, try every key, test the ports, webcam, speakers and charger, and check the storage size matches the ad.

Keep accessories out of your Telegram feed
