How long does a fairly priced car stay on OLX India?

Nobody can promise a number, but anyone who has bought a popular hatchback knows the answer is „not long“. A clean petrol car from a first owner draws calls the day it goes up, and a seller who has three serious buyers by evening rarely waits for a fourth.

Email will not beat a phone ping on that car. What it does well is the slower part of the hunt: building a picture of the market before you commit.

Building a price picture from a month of mails

Every mail is searchable. After a few weeks, a search for „Creta diesel“ in your inbox shows what similar cars were asking, in which year and at what mileage. That turns a seller’s „very good price, sir“ into something you can check.

File the mails in a folder, star the cars you viewed, and archive the ones that sold. The shortlist builds itself.

Letting the family vote

Red flags on second-hand cars in India

A price far under every comparable car, a seller who cannot show the car in person, or a request for a token amount to „hold“ it are reasons to walk away. Insist on seeing the RC, insurance and service records in the seller’s name.

Have a mechanic of your choice inspect it, check for an open loan, and pay only once the transfer papers are signed.

When your first OLX India car mail is nowhere to be seen

Your email provider decides where mail from a new sender goes. Check Spam and Promotions after the first match is due; if it is there, mark it as wanted and add the sender to your contacts.
