The common mistake: a search for every instrument in the city

Searching the whole musical instruments section in Bengaluru with no keyword and no price brings capos, stands, cables, broken toys and shop listings into the same mail. You stop reading, and the one good violin gets lost among them.

Pick one instrument, add a size or key count and a realistic ceiling. If the mails then run dry for a week, widen one thing, perhaps the area or the price, and save the new link in place of the old one.

Why an inbox works for buying an instrument for lessons

Parents buying a first violin or keyboard often need the teacher’s view before they commit. An email can be forwarded to the teacher with every ad in it, and the reply comes back in the same thread.

Keep a folder for the hunt. A few weeks of mails show what a used Casio, Yamaha or Roland model goes for in your city, which makes it easier to say yes when a fair one turns up.

Checks to make on a violin, piano or drum kit

On a violin, look for cracks near the f-holes and make sure the bow hair is usable. On a digital piano, play every key at different strengths and test each pedal. On a drum kit, check the shells, the hardware and that all the stands are included.

Meet where you can play the instrument, and pay once you have. An outstation seller asking for an advance before dispatch, or a buyer-side QR code you are told to scan to get paid, are reasons to walk away.

Keeping our mails out of the spam folder

Where a mail lands is your provider’s decision. When the first match should have arrived, check spam and promotions, mark ours as wanted and save the sender as a contact. Each mail carries an unsubscribe link.
