Why a mailbox suits laptop shopping

Laptops are a considered buy. You compare processor, RAM, storage and battery, and that is easier on a big screen with a few listings side by side than one at a time on a phone.

Since every mail is kept, you can search your alerts for „M2“ or „i7“ later and see how prices drifted over the month.

Mail is also easy to hand over. Forward a promising MacBook listing to the person paying for it, or to a friend who repairs laptops, and keep the whole thread in one place while you decide.

Writing a laptop search that sends useful mail

Pick one family per search: MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, ThinkPad, Dell Latitude. Add your city or a nearby one, a floor price that hides chargers and bags, and a ceiling you would pay for a good unit.

If a week of mail shows nothing within reach, raise the ceiling slightly or widen the area, then replace the link in MXSender.

Before you hand over money for a used laptop

Ask for the bill and the serial number and check the warranty status on the maker’s site. On a MacBook, the seller should sign out of iCloud so Activation Lock is off; on Windows, make sure the licence is activated. Test every port, the keyboard and the battery on a short unplugged session.

Inspect it in person and pay at handover. Never pay an advance for courier delivery, and never enter your UPI PIN or scan a code to receive a payment.
