A renter’s checklist before the first card arrives
Have your documents ready, know your move-in date, decide whether pets or a long contract are deal-breakers and keep a short message about yourself saved on your phone. Being first only helps if you can say yes on the viewing.
Then decide how many districts you can realistically reach for a viewing after work. That number, not the whole city, is what your DIM.RIA search should cover.

Paperwork and payments when renting in Ukraine
Some DIM.RIA listings carry the portal’s verification mark, which is a useful signal, but still ask to see the ownership document and the passport of whoever rents the flat out. Never send a deposit for a flat you have not seen in person.
Put the rent, the term, utility bills and the deposit terms in a written agreement. If an agent placed the listing, ask about the commission on the first call.
