willhaben bike deals by email: used bikes in Austria

Every check on your willhaben bike search sends one email that lists each new bike with its photo, price and link.

3 steps

Set up in a minute

  1. Search on willhaben, sort by newest

Build a bike search you would actually ride

On willhaben, bikes are in the Marktplatz under sport and sports equipment. Put the type and size in the search box — „Hardtail 29 M“, „E-Trekkingrad“, „Lastenrad“ — and narrow the area to the Bundesland and Bezirk you can reach for a test ride. Add a maximum price in euro and the condition, then sort the list so the newest ads lead.

  2. Copy the link, paste it into mxsender

Give MXSender the link and your address

Add that results page as a search and choose email as the channel; Telegram is also available for it. Free and Starter send to one address, Pro to up to three, handy when two people are choosing a family bike together.

  3. New listings land in your inbox

Open the digest when it lands

When a check finds new bikes, one email lists all of them, each with a photo, its asking price and a link to the willhaben ad. A check that finds nothing sends nothing. Every mail has an unsubscribe link at the bottom.

Is your inbox the right place for a bike hunt?

If you spend the working day at a laptop with mail open, yes. A bike search does not need another chat app; it needs the new ads in front of you while they are still new, somewhere you already look every few minutes.

Because the email goes out at the end of the check that found the bike, you can still be among the first to write. On a fair-priced e-MTB in spring that early message is usually what gets you the test ride.

Several new bikes in one email, side by side

Austrians clear out garages on Sunday evenings in April and May, and several bikes often appear in the same hour. In the email they sit in a single list, so you can compare frame size, wheel size and price before opening any ad.

Battery, motor and a ride up a slope

With an e-bike, ask about the battery before anything else: capacity in watt-hours, charge cycles, a dealer readout if there is one, and whether the charger and battery key are included. Ask which motor is fitted and when it was last serviced.

Then ride it, ideally up a short hill. A motor that stutters under load or a battery that drops a bar quickly is worth more than any photo. For an Alpine e-MTB, check the fork and brakes as well.

Stolen-bike checks before you pay in euro

Expensive bikes get stolen and resold in Austria too, especially in Wien and the bigger towns. Ask for the purchase receipt, the Kaufbeleg, and the frame number, the Rahmennummer, and match it on the frame when you meet. A ground-off number, a fresh respray or vague answers about the receipt are reasons to leave.

Meet at the seller's address, pay only after you have seen and ridden the bike, and never prepay someone who offers to post it to you.

A folder that remembers Austrian bike prices

The emails stay. A Gmail label or an Outlook rule can file every bike alert in one folder, and after a few weeks you know roughly what a city bike or a used e-MTB goes for in your region. That makes the first phone call a lot more confident.

willhaben's own Suchagent also sends saved-search email. With us you choose the channel and the rhythm of your plan: one search every 30 minutes on Free, five every 10 minutes on Starter at $5.99, twenty with the fastest checks on Pro at $14.99.

❓Frequently asked questions

Will I get one email per bike?

No. One email per check, listing every new bike that check found.

What if the email ends up in spam?

Your provider decides that. After the first match, look in the spam folder too, mark the mail as wanted and add the sender to your contacts.

Can I pause the search over the winter?

Yes, or keep it running with a low price cap: fewer buyers write to sellers between October and February.

Does it cover kids' bikes and trailers?

Yes. Any willhaben results page works. Use one search per item so each email stays easy to read.

Do I start with every bike already listed?

No. What is on the page when you add the search counts as seen, and the first email covers the first new bike after that.
