Is a whole room possible on an eBay budget?

Often, yes, if you are patient and quick at the same time. People moving abroad, clearing a parent’s home or redecorating list good furniture cheaply because they need it gone by a date. They usually sell to the first buyer who can collect, not the one who offers the most.

A search per room, saved in MXSender, brings each new piece to your chat on your plan’s check interval, so you can reply while the seller is still answering messages.

Sorting a flat’s worth of searches in one chat

Each search marks its cards with a hashtag, so the wardrobe, the desk and the dining chairs share one Telegram chat and stay easy to tell apart. Mute the nice-to-have searches and keep the urgent one audible. Forward a card to a flatmate or partner for a quick yes or no; the same chat opens on Telegram Desktop when you want to look closely at the photos.

What to ask about a used sofa or table

Dimensions first, including height and depth, then whether it comes apart for transport. For upholstery, ask about pets, smoke and stains. For wooden pieces, ask about wobbles, scratches and water marks, and request a photo in daylight. For flat-pack furniture, ask whether it has already been taken apart, since some pieces do not survive a second assembly.

Ask when pickup is possible and whether there are stairs at the seller’s end.

Safe payment and the trip home

Keep payment on eBay so its buyer protection applies, and look at the seller’s feedback before you drive anywhere. A seller who wants payment by another method before you have seen the piece is a reason to stop. If delivery is offered from far away, check the cost, and expect import duties or VAT on furniture shipped from another country.

Which plan fits a furnishing project

One piece: Free, one search checked every 30 minutes. A room or two: Starter, $5.99, five searches every 10 minutes. A whole home or a resale hobby: Pro, $14.99, twenty searches with the fastest checks. Telegram and email are in every plan.
