The mistake renters make: checking OLX India only on Sundays

Many people moving flats look at furniture once a week, on the day off. But people relocating for work list sofas, beds and wardrobes on weekday evenings, often at a low price because they leave in days. By Sunday those are long sold.

A card in Telegram the moment your check finds them means you can message the seller the same evening and arrange a pickup before the weekend crowd sees the ad.

Which pieces are true bargains second-hand

Solid wood beds and dining sets, steel almirahs, bookshelves and study tables hold up well used and cost far more new. Sofas can be good value too, but check the cushions and the frame. Mattresses are a personal call; many buyers prefer a new one.

Moving sales are where most bargains come from, since the seller needs space more than money. A whole-house sale can bring a bed, a sofa and a fridge in one visit.

Inspecting before you book a tempo

Sit on the sofa, shake the bed frame and open every drawer. Look for termite marks on wood and rust on steel. Measure the piece and your doorway and stairs first; plenty of sofas never make it past a narrow staircase.

Pay when the furniture is loaded, not before. Be careful with sellers who want an advance to hold the piece without a visit, and never scan a QR code you are told will send you money.

Hashtags keep the sofa and the wardrobe apart

Each card is tagged with its search, so several furniture searches can share one Telegram chat. Forward a card to your flatmate to agree before you call.

Mute the search that is a nice-to-have; its cards arrive without a sound. The same chat is on your phone and on Telegram Desktop.
