What happens to a fair-priced commuter e-bike in Cluj

Picture it: a two-year-old e-bike with a known motor, the charger included and a sensible price in lei. Within a few hours the seller has more messages than they can answer, and they pick the first person who can come by that evening. Everyone else gets a polite sorry.

Being early is the whole game. A Viber message on the phone you already check all day tells you at the next check, not the next time you remember to open OLX.

Wording a bicycle search that stays useful

Too wide, and you get kids’ trikes, wheels and roof racks. Too narrow, and nothing arrives for weeks. A good middle: the bike type plus your frame or wheel size, a minimum price above accessories and a maximum you can actually pay.

For an e-bike, add the motor brand to the search words; it filters out scooters and cheap bikes with add-on kits. Run separate searches for separate bikes, for example yours and your teenager’s.

Viber text versus a photo card

Our Viber alert is plain text: title, price, link. Bike titles on OLX tend to be descriptive, naming brand, type, size and often the year, so the text is enough to decide whether to look. The photos are one tap away on the listing page.

Before you pay: frame number, receipt, battery

Ask for the receipt or at least where the bike came from, and look at the frame number under the bottom bracket. Check for cracks, test the brakes and gears, and ride it. On an e-bike, ask about the battery’s age and mileage and try every assistance level. If it is shipped, choose delivery with inspection, such as Livrare OLX, and never pay through a link sent in a chat.
