Five things to decide before saving a parts search

One: the exact part, named the way sellers write it. Two: which vehicles share it, so you know whether one search is enough or you need two. Three: the most you will pay, courier costs from another island included. Four: used, new or replica, and whether a replica is acceptable for this repair. Five: who in the workshop reads the mails and answers sellers.

Settle those and the link you copy from OLX already holds your rules.

One label per repair job

Give each search its own label in your mail app, named after the customer or the car. When a match arrives, the mail sits next to the job it belongs to, and you can forward it to the customer with the price before you buy.

Searching the inbox later for a part name also shows what it was offered for in recent weeks, a quick guide when you quote a repair.

If the first parts mail goes missing

Your mail provider decides where a new sender lands. After the first match, look in spam and promotions, mark the mail as not spam and add the sender to your contacts.

Once that is done, a phone notification on the label means a rare part does not have to wait until you sit down at the desk at closing time.

Checking a part before you pay for it

Ask for photos of the part number, the connectors and any damage, and compare them with the part you are replacing. For used electronics, ask whether it was tested and agree what happens if it does not fit. Cash on delivery or collection beats a transfer to a seller who will not show the part on video.

Prices far below every other listing for the same part, or one seller with a dozen identical „original“ parts, are worth a second look.
