A breaker yard in Romania lists one car over several days

Romanian dezmembrări, the breaker yards that strip damaged cars, are the backbone of used parts on OLX. A car with a crushed rear end still has a healthy engine, headlights and seats, and the yard posts them one ad at a time. The first sensible buyer reserves the piece; a mechanic or a reseller often beats you to it by the afternoon.

That race is why a parts search belongs in a chat you already read. You do not stare at OLX between jobs; the card reaches you and you phone the yard while the part is still on the shelf.

Words Romanian sellers actually use

Ads are written in Romanian, often with abbreviations: „far dr.“ for a right headlight, „stop“ for a rear light, „planetară“ for a driveshaft, „electromotor“ for a starter. If your Romanian is thin, the part number or OE code is the safest search because yards copy it into the description.

Keep the model generation in the query too. A facelift changes lights and bumpers on many cars, so „Logan 2“ or the year range saves you a trip for the wrong piece.

Couriers, cash on delivery and opening the box first

Most parts travel by courier across Romania. Paying cash on delivery, ideally with the option to open the parcel before you pay, or using OLX’s own delivery where the seller offers it, keeps the risk low. A stranger asking for a bank transfer up front for a part far below market price is the pattern to walk away from.
