Why typing just „iPhone“ into OLX Romania backfires

A bare keyword pulls in cases, chargers, screen protectors, iCloud-locked phones sold for parts and models from years ago. In Telegram that becomes a chat you mute and then ignore, which defeats the purpose.

Name the model and storage, set a realistic ceiling and keep condition on used. If you would take either a 13 or a 14, run them as two searches; each gets its own hashtag on the cards, and tapping it filters the chat to that model.

Messages to send a seller in Romania before you travel

Ask for a screenshot of Battery Health. Ask whether the screen, battery or camera was ever replaced; recent models list parts history under Settings, General, About. Ask whether Find My is off and whether they will sign out of their Apple ID in front of you. Ask if the phone is locked to a network.

Clear answers are a good sign. Vague ones are information too.

Meeting in person or receiving it by courier

In person you can test Face ID, the cameras, the speakers and the charging port yourself, and watch the seller remove their account. When the phone has to travel, OLX’s own delivery with payment through the platform is safer than wiring money to a stranger. A payment link sent to you in a chat app outside OLX is a red flag.
