Which iPhones go first, and why

Phones in the middle of the market move fastest: an iPhone 11, 12 or 13 with decent battery health, the original box and an honest price. Students in Bandung and office workers in Jakarta look for exactly those, and the seller usually picks among the first few chats. Flagship Pro Max models at full price and very old models tend to wait longer.

That is why being early matters here more than for most items. A card on your phone means you write while the seller is still reading messages, not after the phone is promised to someone else.

Resmi, inter and the IMEI question

Indonesian listings often say whether a phone came through official channels, labelled resmi or iBox, or was bought abroad, often written inter. Under the IMEI rules, a phone whose IMEI is not registered for Indonesia may not work on local networks. Ask the seller for the IMEI and check its status on the official IMEI check before you pay, and treat a much lower price on an inter phone as a reason to look closer.

Keep the search honest about this. If you only want resmi phones, add the word to your search and the cards will match better.

Checks at a COD meeting

Meet somewhere public, like a mall food court or a busy minimarket. Ask the seller to sign out of the Apple ID and switch off Find My while you watch, then look at Battery Health in Settings, test Face ID or Touch ID, both cameras, the speaker, charging and a call with your own SIM.

Never transfer a deposit for a phone you have not seen, and ignore anyone who sends a payment link or asks for an OTP code.

One chat for several phone hunts

Each search gets its own hashtag, so an iPhone 13 search and a separate iPhone 12 mini search can live in one chat. Forward a card to a friend who knows phones, mute the search that is just for curiosity, and pick up the same cards on Telegram Desktop.
