Who wins the race for a cheap jadul piece?

Ask any dealer in Jalan Surabaya in Jakarta, the old antiques street, and you hear the same answer: the person who saw it first. Vintage items on OLX Indonesia often come from families clearing a house, not from people who follow prices. A Philips valve radio priced like junk is a gift to the first caller and a regret for the fifth.

A Viber text cannot make you a better judge of radios, but it can make you earlier. That is usually the larger advantage.

Writing the search so a text-only Viber alert says enough

Because Viber messages carry no photo, the title has to do the work. A search for „radio tabung Philips“ returns titles that already tell you the maker and type, so you can decide from the words alone whether to open it. A search for „barang antik“ returns teapots, chairs and reproductions, and every message forces a tap.

Keep one theme per search. If you hunt cassettes and enamel signs, set them up as two searches rather than one vague one. On Free that means choosing your main hunt; Starter, at $5.99, gives five searches checked every 10 minutes, and Pro, at $14.99, twenty with the fastest checks. Free checks its single search every 30 minutes.

Inspecting old electronics and signs before the deal

For radios and players, ask whether the set powers on and request a short video of it working. Valves, belts and speakers are the usual weak points. For signs, look closely at the rust pattern and the lettering; new prints aged artificially do appear.

Pay when you have the item in front of you, the way COD meetings normally work. A seller who wants a deposit by transfer before showing anything, or who asks for a one-time code from your phone, is not someone to deal with.

Viber in Indonesia: what to expect from our chat

Messages arrive in one conversation with MXSender, newest at the bottom, like any other Viber chat. If you mute the chat in Viber, alerts still come in quietly. To rest one hunt, pause that search in your MXSender account; unsubscribing in Viber stops every Viber alert at once.
