The „furniture murah“ mistake on OLX Indonesia

The most common error is searching the whole category for anything cheap. You end up with plastic stools, showroom ads, shop listings for new sets and the odd broken cabinet, and after a day you stop reading the alerts at all. Then the one rattan armchair set you would have loved comes and goes unnoticed.

A good search names the piece and, where it matters, the material or size: kursi rotan teras, kitchen set 2 meter, kursi kantor ergonomis. Fewer messages, almost all relevant, and you keep reading them.

Why a text-only Viber alert is enough for furniture

Viber messages from us carry the title, the price and the link, nothing more. For a specific search that works well: if the title says „kitchen set atas bawah 2 m“ and the price fits, you open it; if not, you scroll on. The photos and the seller’s details are on OLX, one tap away.

Viber is already on most phones in many Indonesian households, so there is nothing new to learn. If you would rather see a photo with each alert, add Telegram or email to the same search.

Before you hire the pickup: checks for used furniture

Measure your space and your doorway first, then ask the seller for the dimensions. Kitchen sets are built for one kitchen and may not fit yours without changes. With rattan, look for broken weave and loose binding; with office chairs, test the gas lift and the wheels.

Go and look, pay on the spot, and arrange transport yourself. A seller who wants a transfer before a viewing, or who suddenly offers to ship through a courier you have never heard of, is a reason to walk away.

How Free, Starter and Pro handle a furniture hunt
