Getting the width of an OLX car search right

Any car, anywhere in Ukraine, under a budget will fill the inbox with ads you will never act on. One or two models, an honest year range and a region you can reach after work keep each mail worth opening. Set the price limit slightly over your budget, since owners usually leave room to bargain.

Shopping in more than one city, such as Odesa and Kyiv? Make them separate searches, so the subject tells you at once where the trip would be.

Before money changes hands: VIN, papers, garage, MVS

Get the VIN and check the vehicle’s registration history and any restrictions in the public MVS service. When you view it, the VIN on the body should match the registration certificate, and the owner on that certificate should match the seller’s ID. Have it looked over at a garage of your own choosing.

Do not send a deposit for a car you have not seen, however reasonable the story. Pay at the re-registration at the MVS service centre, where the papers are checked before the contract is signed.
