Comparing crossovers in Astana from one folder

Car buying is slow and full of comparisons: this year against that, this mileage against that price. Email suits it. By the third week you know what a fair RAV4 or Tucson costs in your city better than any guess.

Questions to put to a private seller in Kazakhstan

How long have you owned it, and why are you selling? Is the car registered in Kazakhstan, and are you the owner on the documents? Any loans or restrictions on it? Has it been in an accident or repainted? Can I bring my own mechanic? A seller who answers clearly is usually worth a visit; one who dodges about documents is not.

Write the answers into a reply to the mail so the whole history of that car sits in one thread.

Viewing, inspection and paying safely

See the car in daylight. Match the VIN on the body to the registration certificate, check for liens through official services, and take it to a garage you choose rather than the seller’s. A car brought in from another country should already be customs-cleared and registered locally or have a clear path to it.

Never pay a deposit to „hold“ a car you have not seen. Pay when the change of ownership is being formalised and every paper matches.
