Read the console email after each check

When a check spots new ads you get a single email that lists them all, each with a photo, the tenge price and a link to OLX. Without new ads, nothing is sent.

A short checklist before you save a console search

One machine per search. A price ceiling that matches what you would really pay. A floor high enough to keep games, gamepads and charging docks out. Your city, or the cities where you can meet. Newest first. With those five decisions made, each email will be short and worth opening.

If you are open to several machines, write them as separate searches rather than one loose one; the emails then stay clear, and you can file them under the console’s name.

What the email shows for each PlayStation, Xbox or Switch

Every ad in the mail has the seller’s photo, the title in the seller’s words, often in Russian or Kazakh, the price in tenge and a link. The full description, the list of games and the seller’s contacts are on OLX, one click away.

Because the mails stay in your inbox, you can look back a week later and compare what a Switch OLED really sells for in Almaty against what you see now.

Testing a console you found through OLX.kz

Plug it into a TV and play for a few minutes; listen for a loud fan. Check the HDMI port and the disc drive, sign in online, and compare the serial on the box with the machine. For a Switch, look for drift in the Joy‑Cons and ask whether the firmware has been changed.

Pay after the test, in person. A request to send money first by Kaspi transfer for a console shipped from another city, especially when the price is far under the rest, is a reason to stop.

If the first console email does not show up

Your mail provider decides where messages from new senders land. After the first match, look in spam and promotions, mark it as not spam and add our sender to contacts. Every mail carries an unsubscribe link.
