Shape a furniture search on OLX.bg

Go to home and garden, then furniture, and pick one piece: sofas, wardrobes, dining tables. Choose your city, since furniture rarely travels well, and set the most you will pay; a free filter or price zero can catch give-aways. Order by newest and copy the address.

Who gives away good furniture in Bulgarian cities

People moving abroad, landlords replacing a tenant’s set, families who just bought a new kitchen and need the old table gone by the weekend. In Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna these ads appear every day, and the cheapest ones, a solid oak table for little money or a corner sofa for whoever collects it, go to the first person who replies and can come with a van.

If you see that ad at lunch rather than at night, you are usually that person.

Students starting the academic year in Sofia or Plovdiv chase the same cheap desks, beds and shelves every September, so prices that look fair in July disappear quickly once term begins. Starting the search a few weeks early gives you more choice and fewer rivals.

What to inspect on a second-hand sofa or wardrobe

For upholstered pieces, check the seams and the underside for stains, smell, and any sign of pests before you load it into your car. Press the cushions and sit on it. For wardrobes and beds, ask whether it has already been taken apart, whether all fittings are in a bag, and measure your stairwell and doorways first.

Pay when you collect, not before. A seller who asks for a deposit through a link sent in a chat, or for your card details, is a reason to stop.

Getting a big piece home in Bulgaria

Line up transport before you call: a friend with a van, or a local man-with-a-van service you have already spoken to. Telling the seller „I can collect today with a van“ is often what wins the deal against a buyer who still needs to arrange it. For a flat without a lift, bring a second person; sellers rarely help carry.

Sorting a whole flat’s worth of searches in Telegram

One search per piece keeps things sane: the sofa, the wardrobe, the desk. Each has its own hashtag in the chat, so you can scroll just the desks. Forward a card to your flatmate before you commit, mute the one that can wait, and switch to Telegram Desktop when you want to compare photos on a bigger screen.
