A ten-minute checklist before any hryvnias change hands

Ask the seller to sign out of iCloud and turn off Find My iPhone while you watch, then erase the phone. If Activation Lock is still on, you are holding a device you cannot set up with your own Apple ID.

Then look in Settings at Battery Health and the maximum capacity figure. On newer models, the About screen shows parts and service history and flags a screen, battery or camera that is not a genuine Apple part. Finally, ask directly whether the phone is refurbished, and by whom: Apple refurbishment and an unknown repair shop are not the same thing.

Plain „iPhone“ brings cases, cracked phones sold for parts and models far over budget. A search for one model and one storage size, with a ceiling a little under what that phone usually sells for, returns only listings worth tapping.

Going too narrow has its own cost: a single colour plus a tiny price window can stay silent for weeks. If you are torn between two generations, make them two separate searches rather than one vague one.

Why a sharp listing is answered within the hour

A clean iPhone priced slightly below the rest collects messages quickly, and most sellers simply go with the first serious buyer. Whoever sees the listing late usually gets a polite „already sold“.

Shipping across Ukraine versus meeting in person

If the seller is in your city, meeting lets you run the whole checklist with the phone in your hand. When they are in Odesa and you are in Lviv, OLX Доставка or Nova Poshta with payment on receipt lets you inspect the parcel at the branch before you accept it.

Be careful with a request for a prepayment to a card, or with a payment link sent in a chat app instead of being created inside OLX. A price far below every other listing for the same model deserves patience, not speed.
