It goes up at nine. By ten the seller has taken a few calls and agreed to show it to the first person who rang. That is how a well-priced diesel hatchback tends to move on OLX in Bosnia, and why so many buyers feel they only ever see the cars nobody wanted.

Searching neither too wide nor too narrow

Two filters cause most wasted alerts: fuel and gearbox. Set them. Give the mileage a little headroom, since sellers round, and do not make the price ceiling so tight that a car listed 300 KM above it, and open to an offer, never reaches you. If you are open to two similar models, run them as two searches so each card is clearly labelled by its hashtag.

Paperwork and checks for a car bought in BiH

Ask for the VIN before you travel and compare it at the viewing with the registration document and the body. For an imported car, ask whether it has been cleared through customs and registered, and who will handle the transfer. Make sure the person selling is the owner or holds a valid power of attorney.

Have a garage you chose look at the car, and do not send a deposit for a car you have not seen. Paying when the documents are in order and the transfer is under way keeps both sides honest.
