A nursery checklist that fills itself

Most parents in Iran buy baby things the same way: a list on the fridge, a budget in toman, and a few weeks of looking. Cot. Mattress. Pram. Car seat. Bath. Bouncer. Each of those can be one search, and email suits the rhythm, because you rarely need to answer a cot ad within minutes; you need to see every good one and pick calmly.

Filter the mails into a folder called nursery. In a fortnight you will know what a fair price for a used playpen in your city looks like, which is the best defence against overpaying.

Pay when you have the item in your hands, at a place you both chose. If someone wants money in advance to keep a pram for you, or asks you to read out a code that arrived on your phone, end the conversation.
