Prices for used iPhones in Iran move with the market. A folder of alert mails over two or three weeks shows you, ad by ad, what sellers ask for each model and memory size in your city.

Once you know the normal range, you recognise a good ad the moment you open the mail, and you also recognise one that is too cheap to be real.

Three filters that matter most for iPhones

The model, because a 12 and a 14 are different purchases. The storage, because 64 GB and 256 GB can differ a lot in price. The price floor, because without it the search shows covers and parts. Colour rarely needs a filter; skip it and you see more phones.

Questions before you meet

Is the phone registered for use in Iran? Has the screen, battery or camera ever been replaced? What does Battery Health show? Is Find My switched off and the Apple ID signed out? Ask for a screenshot of the settings page in advance if the seller is willing.

Meet in public, test the phone fully, and pay only once it is in your hand. Avoid advance payments and links to unfamiliar payment pages.

The alert mail, and the spam folder

Each mail lists the new phones with photo, Persian title, price as written and a link. There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Your provider decides where a new sender lands, so after the first match check spam or promotions, mark it as wanted and add the sender to your contacts.
