A checklist before your first kids’ gear search

Decide what you need new and what you are happy to buy used. Many parents in Pakistan buy the pram, the cot, the walker, the playpen and toys second-hand, but prefer a new car seat and a new mattress. Write down the brands or types you trust and the most you will pay for each.

Then create one search per item. A search for „baby“ alone returns clothes, toys and furniture in one heap; a search for „travel system pram“ in your city returns exactly what you want to see.

Why a good pram in Islamabad does not stay listed

Children outgrow things in months, so these items are often almost new, and other parents know it. A clean, well-known pram at a fair price draws several messages on the day it is posted. Sellers usually deal with whoever calls first and can come soonest.

A Telegram card on your phone gives you that head start. Forward it to your partner or your mother with one tap and agree before you call.

Safety points for second-hand baby equipment

Check that the pram folds and locks properly and that the brakes hold. For cots, look for loose screws, cracked slats and peeling paint. For car seats, ask whether the seat has been in an accident and whether all straps and buckles are present; if the history is unclear, a new seat may be the safer choice.

Meet the seller in a public place or with a family member, inspect before paying, and avoid sending an advance to someone you have not met.

Quiet cards during the baby’s nap

You can mute a search, so its cards arrive without a sound, useful for a broad toy search you check when you have a minute. Keep the sound on for the item you actually need this month. The same chat is on your phone and your computer.
