Reading a car card in your Telegram chat

The title is the seller’s own, so it often carries the model, year and transmission, with phrases like „pajak hidup“ for road tax that is paid up or „tangan pertama“ for a first owner. Those are claims to check, not facts. The button opens the full ad with every photo and the description.

Each search gets its own hashtag, so a hunt for a city hatchback and one for a seven-seater can share a chat. Forward a card to your spouse or a mechanic friend, and mute the search you care less about.

Papers and flood damage: the checks that matter here

Match the frame and engine numbers on the car with the STNK and the BPKB, and make sure the name on them fits the seller or comes with proper paperwork. Ask whether the car is still under a financing contract, since unpaid credit makes a sale messy.

In cities that flood, look under the carpets, in the spare-wheel well and at the seat rails for mud or rust. A neutral mechanic or an inspection before you pay is money well spent, and a deposit asked by transfer before any viewing is a reason to stop.

Odd-even plates and other details worth asking

If you drive into central Jakarta, the odd-even rule means the last digit of the plate matters on some roads. You will not find that in a filter, so ask before you travel to a viewing. Mileage, colour and fuel are worth adding as search words only when they truly rule a car out.
