Vintage and collectible finds on eBay, mailed to you
Collectors on eBay hunt in narrow niches where the right piece appears rarely, so a mail for each new match keeps your want list moving without daily browsing.

Turn a want list entry into a search
Start in Collectibles, Coins & Paper Money, Stamps, Music or Toys, whichever fits, and type the piece as collectors name it: maker, series, year, catalogue number. Add condition, a price range and item location or ships-to, pick auction or Buy It Now, sort by Newly listed and copy the address.

How collectors word an eBay search
Sellers describe the same object in different ways: a record by pressing and label, a watch by reference number, a die-cast car by maker and catalogue number, a coin by year and mint mark. Use the identifier serious sellers use and you skip most of the reproductions and look-alikes.
Keep a second, looser search for the sellers who do not know what they have, such as „old pocket watch“ or „box of records“. Those are where the surprises turn up, and a mail lets you skim them without effort.
Authenticity, grading and the photos that matter
Ask for close-ups of hallmarks, signatures, matrix numbers or mint marks, and for photos in daylight rather than under a lamp. For graded items, check the certificate number with the grading service. Compare the photos with known genuine examples before you bid.
Read the seller’s feedback, especially on similar items, and the return policy. eBay has buyer protection for purchases that go wrong, including items not as described; read the terms for collectibles.
Bringing a collectible home from abroad
Many of the best pieces sit with sellers in other countries. Check the item location, the shipping cost to your country and the packing; fragile pieces need a seller who packs well. Import duties or VAT may be charged on arrival, and some items, such as antiques with ivory or certain materials, can face export or import restrictions, so ask before you bid.
Auctions run for days. A mail on the day a lot is listed gives you that time to research, compare and decide on a maximum bid.
A searchable archive of your niche
Mails pile up into something useful: a record of what came up in your niche and at what price, searchable by catalogue number years later. A folder per collection keeps it tidy.
Your provider decides where the mail lands. After the first match, look in spam or Promotions, mark the mail as wanted and add the sender to your contacts. Each mail has an unsubscribe link.
Free: one search checked every 30 minutes, one address. Starter at $5.99: five searches every 10 minutes, one address. Pro at $14.99: twenty searches, the fastest checks and three addresses.
❓Frequently asked questions
Will I be told when an auction I watch is closing?
No. eBay’s own watch list handles that; MXSender mails you about new listings in your search.
Can I run one search per catalogue number?
Yes, within your plan: one on Free, five on Starter, twenty on Pro.
Do mails show the item’s condition?
They show the title, price and link; condition and photos are on the listing.
Can a fellow collector get the mails too?
On Pro, up to three addresses can receive them.
Are existing listings sent on day one?
No. The first check records what is there, and mails cover items listed afterwards.
